Actor Sharad Kapoor, known for his roles in Josh, LOC Kargil, and Lakshya, has been accused of sexual harassment by a 32-year-old woman. The Khar police in Mumbai have registered an FIR based on the victim’s allegations of inappropriate behaviour and forced physical contact.
Details of the Allegation
According to the complainant, she connected with Sharad Kapoor on Facebook and later communicated with him via video calls. Kapoor reportedly invited her to discuss a film project and shared a location in Khar, Mumbai. Upon arrival, the victim realized the address was not an office but his residence.
The woman stated that when she reached the third floor, a man opened the door, and Kapoor called her into the bedroom. Later that evening, Kapoor allegedly sent her a WhatsApp message using foul language. Distressed, the victim shared the incident with a friend, who advised her to report it to the Khar police station.
Legal Action
An FIR has been filed against Sharad Kapoor under sections 74 (assault or criminal force against a woman), 75 (sexual harassment), and 79 (insulting a woman’s modesty) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita.
As of now, Kapoor has not released a statement addressing the allegations. The investigation is ongoing.
